I just got a Proxima Ovation 944 that is in excellent shape. I was fooling around with it the other day with the 600w halogen and the lights flickered off and on a couple times in about a 10 second time period. Anyway, before that I had my XBOX hooked up via S-video and it was working great but after that, now it won't detect anything in S-video or Composite In. If I try to manually select, it stays in PAL 50hz and won't switch to NTSC 60hz. Anyone know what the problem is? Could the board have been damaged by a surge in electricity? Everything else works great still. Please help. Thanks.
try this.
1. Turn on the panel with no inputs. let it boot to the proxima screen.
2 press power button to turn off the panel.
3 press each of the direction buttons once.
The power light should flash twice. This resets everything to factory mode.
4 Cross fingers.

Man this sucks. I think you are right about the controller for s-vid/composite getting fried. These would probably be the same controller correct?
I reset the panel. No go. It just won't detect and it won't switch to ntsc no matter what I do.
One of the reasons I wanted this panel was so I could play my XBOX on it through s-video.
The shape that this thing is in would have fetched over $300 on ebay.
Anything I can do with the controller board to maybe see if it can be fixed? Thanks.
