Let’s give the driver manufacturers the benefit of the doubt in that they’ve selected materials for the compromise of specific qualities required
Including longevity. EPDM surrounds with metal cones would not really have a best before date. The spider or perhaps cone sag would be the ones to worry about. Hence, no EPDM surrounds.
Hint: The M stands for monomer, but according to someone in the know, it's a polymer and has been since being brought to market.
Well, I'll be ruddy bejabbered. Looky what wiki says about EPDM.
It is used for belts, electrical insulation, vibrators, solar panel heat collectors, and speaker cone surrounds.
I am interested in one of those, my wife perhaps another. Gives us some good time apart. 😉

Guys, thanks for productive discussion, expanding it from come uv protection to surround regeneration, including vibrators.
You will be pleased to know i found the solution. I ordered 'wet look' liquid, sold by parts express for cone coating. I tested the stuff on old fullrange. I measured fr response before and after, insignificant changes.
Besides, my buddy likes the look, so i decided to stick with it. I know it does not claim uv protection, i just assume it does the job.
Its dark black.

I'd be more concerned about the surround from UV.

LED is still in the UV area, but different wavelength. Benefits are lower power consumption, no ground ozone pollution=less ventilation, lower heat generating and better longevity. However, lacquers/initiators are more expensive...
