Projector advice needed

To obtaine an immage on a 4 by 8 foot screen as bright as
that of a typical CRT tv in the same room how much light
output would I need. Assuming I had a low quality screen.
Perhaps this isn`t the right forum to ask this but it seems
silly to just buy a screen and a projector and find they won`t
work at all in my room ect.
