Projection panel in India

Hello,
Does anybody know where in India can I get a projection panel? I tried several electronics shops here but it didn't seem to be a very popular item here.
Getting from eBay is an option but the shipping costs quoted by the sellers are sometimes more than the cost of panel itself. Moreover I tried getting FM transmitter twice through eBay but it couldn't make its way to my home and I lost my money.

Thanks in Advance.

Best Regards,

lcd panel

Hi this is a fellow Diy builder in Delhi, so please take my advice as i have finished making a 92" (7 FEET 8inches across) Projector forIts no use hunting for lcd panels as they are hard to come by.resolution is also way below modern lcd screens as you are talking about technology at least 8 years back before lcd projectors came in.you will pay alot for used or busted units that are bulky and difficult to put in a sleek box.
Hack open a lcd screen from ones menant to be installed in cars.
I have just finished my projector in Delhi with a 8" screen from a car roof mount type screen available in wholesale electronics shops for Rs 3,500!! Go for it!!
My pictures are coming up as soon as mods allow it!
Best of luck!

ok buddhi,

i am going to get my hands dirty on dismantling the LCD. Others things are ready fresnel, lamp ( not initially using metalhalide but using whitelight source ( a bunch of white LEDs). It really gives more light but less heat and less power consumption.

How are you controlling the heat caused by the metal halide. I heard it wud produce more heat. Heatsink or cooling fan etc....
