For my first projection setup i'll be using the following:
-JML Optical Projection lens 260-280mm f/7.6
will this projection lens work for a 5" PSone Screen, or an Ovation 820 panel?
Any input is greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Scott

It might work, but I'd look for a lens with a bigger diameter (higher f/) as more light will go through it, giving a better ratio. It also depends on how big you want the screen to be. A 280mm focal is going to keep the picture size smaller, which is better for the psone lens.
but my room is 40x20. so putting the projector further back will increase picture size. so does this still matter?
small LCD huge image
5" LCD 280 mm fl lens = 104" image from 20 feet.
It matters because you will only get a certain amount of light through the LCD. If you spread it out over a huge image, than it will be very dim. I think you would be better off with a smaller image from a PSone. You also have to consider the size of the pixels in the projected image. The more you blow them up, the uglier they look.
You might want to think about a 450 mm fl lens for a 63 inch image from 20 feet. But maybe spending $120 US for a lens for use with a PSone projector is way out of proportion. Much cheaper to just use the lens you have and try moving your projector closer to the wall. See how you like the image size and quality. Then maybe think about a Lilliput or large-format projector if you want more.
