Putting the exact project details in the background until I finalize my plans. What I wanted to know is if there is a way I can integrate an equalizer into an amp I am building. If so how would I go about doing that?
You see, my ideal is a chip 2.1 channel amp that has a source selector on-board which would let me hook up like 4 different audio sources and switch between them as I wish by the push of a button. That I am not too worried about right now, what I need to know is if it is possible to build an on-board equalizer, how hard would it be? And would it manipulate the unamplified signal then run it into the AMP or get the amplified signal and manipulate it?

You're probably not going to find a chip with a source selector. You can build one out of a TTL counter, demultiplexer and mini relays. Your EQ goes before the amp.
