Profile page redirects to other user

Hi,

My profile page seems to redirect to some other guy 🙂

Maybe I do have a split personality in the end? 😀
Seems like the "." in my name might be an illegal character?

It is the . in the name causing the problem. I think _ is a legal character or we can change the name altogether. Just Wirehead maybe.

If you let us know what you want then we can alter it 🙂

Can the software "trap" characters at the time of registering?
Characters that cause this problem could then send back a message "not acceptable characters"?

Same issue with my profile

My profile also redirects to someone else. It looks as though this may be due to the hyphen in my username.

I'd prefer spk (my initials) but if this is is not available spk_a would be OK.

In a way I rather fancy a complete change of name - spk looks so boring. Would it be OK to use "Ludus Tonalis" in homage to the great collection of fugues?

Its because of the . Forum doesn't recognise it.

He has been a Member for almost 11years.
Why is he still allowed to use a Forum name that is not recognised by the Forum?

I don't the technicalities although I believe it may be to do with forum software updates. It wasn't an issue back in the day.
