Yesterday I discovered something I hoped i won`t discover with those modules. I was finishing new amplifier I build for my car using two of UcD180HG and 500W -+42V power supply. Sound was great, heat non worth mentioning. I was about to close the case when I disconnect power from preamplifier sending signal to UcDs, sound faded as it suppose to but on reconnect loud pop small smoke from UcD and pretty blue light went bye bye.
Upon inspection I discovered that HEF4093BT chip on the back of the ucd is burned ( man I hate those smd) and also r34 and r37 got hot to the point that there anodizing discolored directly beneath them.
Now I have $200 worth of dead hypex and no idea where to start.
Thoughts?
