Hi all audio/electronic fanatics,
To resolve an electronic problem in my (more than 10 years old) SONY CDP-203 CD player I need a wiring diagram / service manual.
The problem is that, after loading an audio CD (I think the CD turns at proper speed) it is not read at all and after a few seconds the CD is ejected.
One of the symptoms is that two medium power driver-transistors (of a group of eight), driving the CD-unit motors/lens assembly, become very hot.
All voltages ('silk-screened' on PCB) OK, testing the driver transistors with Ohm-meter OK.
No result on searching the internet on this problem/service manual.
My background is electronic engineer, measuring tools such as Textronic-scope, mutimeters, signal generator etc. are available.
Is anyone able to:
1. assist me how to resolve this problem, or
2. deliver me a soft-copy or PDF of this diagram/manual or advise me how to get it?
Buying a new CD player is not the case, the challenge is to repair the old one.
Thanks in advance for your effort/reply.
DeeGee.
