Proac response 2.5 clone power rating

I read on Scan-Speak web page that woofer 8535 has power rating 70W, but at Proac web page they recommend 20-200W power amplifier.

I do not understand this!!!!

Many speaker makers probably over specify their products. Proac's 200w is probably a peak/max level and helps with marketing for those people who worship high speaker power ratings, but it really does not mean anything. I have driven the original and clone Proacs hard and they are both the same on amps from 20w to 250w. The speaker is not a very hard driving speaker and on hard bass the woofers will reach their limits compared to other monster type speakers (10-12" woofers) .
