If u were to follow the plans, u will have to slap all internal walls with 5mm bitumen. This acts as a low bass absorbtion butmore importantly, it deadens the walls. There shouldn't be a need for braces even if you do use 18mm walls. Nonetheless try and psycho your local dealer to let u unscrew their Proac 2.5's woofer andl et us know 🙂

Where should the binding post cutout be located--above or below the port? I've seen DIY versions located above (shorter leads to drivers, but lowers stability in a critical spot?) and below (less interaction with drivers, longer leads, must route through any bracing) the port.

Does the "real" Response 2.5 have the cutout below?

Thanks for any info.

Hey! they live! got them working just need to finish the veneer & make some grilles. They sound pretty good at the moment - they obviously need some running in . Mega soundstage! my only complaint is they can sound a bit thin on some cds again this could be down to lack of running in (about 10 hours so far). I put my binding posts at the bottom of the speaker for convienience really

Proac clone xo

Its good to see the interest here but why all the fuss about which crossover (xo) to use. Read the site carefully and you will see that Jacq's mods are the way to go. There is a reason for the way the xo development was written, and please don't ask why.
Keep it simple, don't over complicate things for yourselves.
