That sounds unusual. I've just tried a test with a standard account and it seems to be working OK.
No quick answers on that, I'll have to ask.
My own first thoughts would be to delete all content in the folders and retest from a clean starting base.

To add to what Jan said, see if the box for saving messages in Sent folder is ticked. Sometimes you may want to request a read receipt, but the box below that will toggle your ability to save messages.
Thanks all. They are sent but no record of them, the folder isn't full. Where is the box you refer to Sangram?
I was having a look elsewhere for this option and it seems it is also under the user profile options which is under the 'User CP' button on the top line.. So many ways of doing the same thing with vBulletin 🙂

Great stuff, as you say, hard to find, I'd given up, my head was starting to hurt 🙂 Thanks for your help, you are the master problem solver 😀
Sangram is the one who remembered there was an option, not me 🙂 although I must have come across it many times and it just hasn't registered with me.
...ust below the pm you have typed.....

One is "this message". One is "all messages".
The one in the control panel is a global setting and the one offered on each pm is a one off . I've just tried it to check 🙂
I also tried out the 'Request a read receipt for this message' and find that although it works OK the recipient of the pm has the option of whether to accept the confirmation or not.
In other words you can still read the pm and just decline the receipt which kind of defeats the object of it to me.
However 🙂
