Dear all,
I have started looking for some equipment to measure high quality small signal audio equipment. I am planning to invest around $1000-1500 USD max.
The most important specifications I would like to measure are (at least critical ones), Noise and THD+D.
After looking on ebay and other sites I concluded that buying a brand new high end sound card might be a good idea. This is because I can integrate, a generator, scope, spectrum analyzer, audio DIN and IEC filters for noise measurements and other stuff in only one unit.
The only reliable sound card I have found is the Prism Sound Lyra 1, not only because of the renowned brand, but also because it is the only sound card publishing their tech specs completely under internatonal standards.
Lyra Operation Manual
I would like to hear some advice and opinions on this.
Thanks in advance!!!

Its definitely a good interface but may be overkill if you aren't using it for the different recording features. Lynx has similar devices. The L22 and E series have similar performance for around $800 for an internal PC card. E22 They also have the Hilo Hilo Reference A/D D/A Converter System for $2500. The QA401 has similar performance including software for $450 or so. https://www.quantasylum.com/content/Products/QA401.aspx http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/equipment-tools/231401-quantasylum-qa400-qa401.html#post3396418 There are others like Benchmark Benchmark ADC1 USB - Analog to Digital Audio Converter - Benchmark Media Systems, Inc. RME RME: ADI-2 Pro
All of these have similar specs. I'm not sure what you mean by "international standards".

Holla que tal..
May for measurement look at this project http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/equipment-tools/277808-diy-audio-analyzer-ak5397-ak5394a-ak4490.html while the this will act as a sound card with more measurement flexibility as ADC attenuation & DAC gain.
Also a very important factors :
- about galvanic isolation form the PC
- asymmetric input (where galvanic isolation will count)
- modular build, replace ADC or DAC for newer upcoming chip's
the main delivery state: no shipping yet
just my 2 cents

Thank you for this info, it has been extremely helpfull. How about a pci express to usb o firewire adapter/case for lynx interfaces?

Great project!!!! Where can read some info about galvanic isolation??
Kind Regards
Great project!!!! Where can read some info about galvanic isolation??
May ask in the related thread about or PM/ping Jens (originally the miniDSP UBStreamer was planed to use with his isolation board)
