I am using a Presonus 24.4.2 StudioLive that runs to my Mac Air and into Universal Control 1.6. I can control remotely via iPad without issue.
I recently purchased a Surface Pro 4. I would like to utilize it to control the board remotely as well.
Is this a possibility? Anyone familiar with this pairing?

You will still need and IPAD for remote control. It's the same configuration as if you were using your Mac air.
You still need a computer + IPAD to remotely control the 24.4.1.
Computer connected to board via firewire and IPAD to computer via wifi.

In my experience you are better off with Mac based FireWire when using the original x.4.2 boards. Maybe things have changed with the new ai boards. I upgraded to Soundcraft...
