Predator Call Ideas?

I'm not sure where to post this, so I'll start in the Lounge.

I want to build a portable call for hunting coyotes, but I need something with a good remote control I know I can buy a good one for about $400, but being a DIY guy, I'd like to build my own and save a lot of money. I'd like to be able to operate from at least one hundred feet. Any ideas on a portable amp with a good, strong remote control?
Thanks!

Just to start with something, show what´s commercially available that fills your needs. Even if it costs $400.
I guess it´s quite different from our everyday stuff.

And ask for this thredo to be moved to SS Amplifiers or Analog signal sources or similar, Lounge is usually for non Technical stuff such as health, economy, politics, Art, "everything else".

Bluetooth can easily cover that range outdoors, so you could build a very simple solution where you simply stream audio files from a bluetooth source (phone, tablet, etc.) to a battery-powered, self-amplified speaker with a bluetooth receiver in it.

The caveat is that this will chew through phone/tablet battery - so you'd probably need one of those power brick things.

You'd want to do all you can to conserve power in the amp, as well. A high-efficiency, low power Class D amp and a very high efficiency speaker is in order.

The cheapest way might be to buy an outdoor portable bluetooth speaker and then upgrade its power supply somehow, if necessary. https://www.amazon.com/Wireless-Blu...G+50W+Bluetooth+Speaker&qid=1609176117&sr=8-3

Then all you need is some mp3 call files on your phone/tablet to play back.

(This is where someone will step in and remind us that you should obviously use FLAC files due to the superior hearing of these predators. 🙂 )

Yeah, don't Coyotes eat rodents?

True. And many other wild animals do.

I follow Shawn Wood´s rat trap channel, INCREDIBLE mechanical ingenuity displayed there, also some Electronics too (think 3000V instant painless electrocution with infrared sensors and powered from 4 AA alkalines) , he is very responsible, frees about half his live catch (the ones who match the ecosystem) but feeds all nasty invasive species to local wild animals.

The "Animal channel" part starts at about 02:00, the friendly Coyote appears at 04:15 .

Also racoons, beavers, swamp rats and even a Duck!!!!

In general half of most his videos is about feeding wild animals and filming with nightvision and motion sensor cameras.
VERY interesting.

I found it incredible that even TODAY, some 500 years after we "nasty destructive Europeans" arrived (or so the legend goes) there is still SO MUCH wild life running around, although only when there´s nobody watching.
Good 🙂

EDIT: a last one for the road. Wild animal action starts at 03:14
