Precision polypropylene 1% caps - any good?

Hi,

I would simply use SMD's directly. I would get SMD soldering tips though. Although soldering SMD's is very easy, desoldering SMD's happened to be pain in the posteriors.

I mistakenly modded the EVM so I had to do few desoldering.

SMD IC's are whole different matter. I didn't do soldering SMD IC's for my amps, but I did few elsewhere. I remember, being able to solder them on. But I never succeeded in taking them off since I used double-sided tape or glue to hold them in place.

What about my amp? Its good ol' non-inverted NFB opamp amp. So I didn't need testing. Besides, it was EVM board. I knew it's gonna work ... So I was CHEATING.

(Well, after doing SMD at work, I didn't feel like doing SMD from scratch at home at the time ... It's awhile back.)

Peranders -

This is ma "cheater" SMD amp for viewing. Why? Primarily to make fun of it. Surprsingly good sounding however.

To get back on track...I've used the caps you refer to extensivly and find them pretty good. I think the tinned led foil is more imortant then iron legs.... actually find them sonically (OK marginally) superior the the wima variant...

Cheers
