I have build some active monitors. Problem is that the levels dont go high enough to match the audio level of my other speakers. Only single phono/RCA channel preamps I can find all say that they are for turntables. Will they still work if my input is not from a turntable?
I found this one, and in all of the specs it says "allows you to adjust preamp gain for a wide variety of input sources".

Pre-amps for turntables are not suitable. They have a special frequency response, and follow the RIAA curve, with masses of bass boost and some treble cut.
I think you just want a standard line stage. The simplest thing I can think of is 1 opamp, about three or four resistors, some coupling capacitors, and some sort of power supply.

I cant find much of anything on "Stage Lines" (in english). Did find a few though, they are all high dollar.

I would make something like this, seeing all of the parts come with it. Getting all of the correct parts is the biggest issue for me. Do you all know much about these Ramsey kits? Sound quality is very important to me. Think this is good?

Although I don't know about the Ramsey company, the unit looks fine for $30 (/ £15). (Don't forget to buy the power supply too).
I have 6 or so "wall wort" power adapters ranging from 9 to 12 VDC. This says it works on 9 to 15 VDC, so one of mine should work.
This is the same as the Cmoy amp project I posted. You could build one yourself, especially following the guide in the other link I posted.Lab_Rodent said:

If you do want to buy something, the Cmoy-type would be better. You can use your wallwarts for it.
Thought I would go ahead and share my slightly modified Ramsey Preamp/headphone amp. As you can see I made it so I can just plug in RCA's instead of having to use the headphone jack. It works great, just what I needed.
