Preamp Out from Micro Receiver

I have an ONKYO micro receiver/CD player that I really like the sound of but it lacks power. Is it fairly easy to tap into this unit off the stereo volume control to drive a external power amp or would the quality suffer if I installed a resistor voltage divider circuit which just does about 10:1 voltage attenuation on the speaker outputs?

Something like this?

Speaker signal to line level

You can certainly do that, but you'd get a cleaner signal from the pre-amp section of the ONKYO.

Better to feed the Tape Out into an integrated amplifier when you can get control of volume, tone and balance.

If your receiver have tone controls in the NFB of power amp, with voltage divider from speakers out you'll keep them in function.
Capacitors C383, C383 will block DC voltage to goes into power amplifier.
