I build this preamp: http://www.sound.westhost.com/project97.htm
And for now all semes to be OK but I have a few questions...
Why is SW1 for? It makes no difference in my preamp?
I'm not sure what the word ommit means in english - short circut or increase value? (it's about R119 to get more dBs)
Now I used tl072 but I'll get some better... which ones do you recomend?

Hi,
I don't like the tone section,it is navigative feedback circuit form, although It can tone more obviously, but it isn't good to listening music for long time,it will make you feel so impatiently.
I commend you to build a attenuation tone circuit form.It sounds so naturally...
and sorry for my poor english!
regards,
WINCO

SW1 is for tone defeat, as mentioned on the schematic. It is unlikely to make a difference when the bass & treble pots are in middle (or 'flat') position.
I don't like this way of defeating the tone control, though - I'd prefer a simple switch that will bypass the whole stage.
