Pre Fader Listen Logic Switching

I'm working on a design for a simple summing box/mixer. I would like to incorporate a solo funtion for individual post fader listen. My thought is to use a series of xor or xnor gates to handle the logic switching. I suppose I could use some solid state relay's to handle the cuts of all "non-soloed" channels, however in an effort to keep the part counts low, could I use the logic ouputs from the gates to turn or "mute" the channel buffer amps?

My thought is to not use a separate bus for solo, but to selectively mute all the other channels that are not currently soloed. By doing this it is my hope to avoid passing audio through too many extra components in order to preserve quality.

Thoughts on the merit of this idea as apposed to a separate solo bus?
