powered woofer just hums

hi. i have a JBL plx-ps10 powered woofer. i used it for not 10 minutes. came back in the room and it was humming a constant tone. what could be the issue here? thanks.

Have you tried disconnecting the signal cable?

if i just plug the sub in the wall and not have it connected to the receiver, it still hums. 🙁

Their powered subs are pure junk and you may as well have thrown it out, feel lucky it lasted this long.

is there a simple way to replace this amp? i mean, is soldering needed, or can i just screw a new one in? to my understanding, these jbl amps are junk. is there an alternative amp that i could use for this woofer? i would really like to get this thing working. thanks
