I don't know but I looked at the specs of what they are calling a 300B and it says Plate Dissipation 18 watts. What is this? You don't radically change the spec of a tube and then call it the same thing! What happened to standards? Isn't the real 300B Pd = 45 watts?
Is that a real Mexican poncho or a Sears poncho???????

EAT web page indicates a maximum plate dissipation of 40.5 watts.

EAT 2A3M
I have no direct personal experience with these tubes, but one of my closest friends has tried the 2A3M which from what he said was pretty disappointing.. He cited severe microphonics, mediocre sound compared to some NOS RCA 2A3 dual plates and pretty dodgy build quality as among the issues. I took a good hard look at some good quality photographs and they look pretty flimsy to me. The prices are breathtaking too, I think you could probably purchase a pair of single plate RCA's for about the same amount of money or less. The price quoted by the US distributor put a pair of them at around $660.00.. 😕
These tubes are clearly aimed at the magic foil, mystics crowd.
Nos types are pretty hard to beat, but if I was going to blow a large wad of cash on exotic dhts I would go with someone with an established track record like AVVT.

Funny you should mention that. I made just last night, a 12AX7 mu-follower that drives them just fine
A single 6AS7 in PP (like the one sitting behing me !) can deliver up to 6W of great sounding music 🙂
It's cathode biased (common 680R) and has 200V B+, 2000 Ohms P to P load.
The phase inverter (paraphase) / driver is built around 2 SRPP (one per 6AS7 grid) with 2 x 12AX7, the simplest form, just 2 x 1.2K resistors in each cathode, BUT has 400V B+.
No feddback at all 😎
Numbers are as good as the music 😉
The most serious drawback is the 2.5A heather current 🙄
But who cares about efficiency using toobs ?
Yves.
EAT tubes must be made in Hungary right?
I mean, hungary?...so EAT! 😀
....sorry, it's been one of those daze.

Yeah, actually it was based on that cute little 12AT7 design you showed me 😉
