Power Transmission Through Sound Waves

His premise was ultrasonic sound waves.

I wonder...

We could consider wind energy? If we think of sound as pressure waves in the air, then we might consider wind that blows one way for a couple days, then slows down and blows the other way for a period of time, as SUPER low frequency sound. Measured in microHertz or nanoHertz, or...or...

I think wind energy is a brilliant idea. I wish I had thought of it! Right now I am sitting in front of a 35 W fan, a miniature windmill attached to a motor could charge my phone all day!

With any technology someone has to do the calculation of how many people will get sick and or die and if that number is acceptable. The best place to check is insurance companies, which will out there money where they think it is worth.

Even Ultra Sound may have its dangers. Of course if ill effects are rare no one needs to worry except the 'rare' person who gets ill effects in their person.

Anyway I am sure it has been invented, where is my search engine now....

Ok guys its been done:

Don't ever indulge in electronics then, there's no electronic circuit running without electricity, getting off internet is maybe even better for you as those gadgets connecting to it have lots of EM radiation.

Transmitter and receiver may be joined by an airtight pipe.

Beat me to it, you inventor you! How about 2, 6" 250W RMS "certified" subs with cones airtight connected via a garden hose?

AC line transformer drives Sub A at 50/60 hz at a distance where the dirty, nasty polluted electrical power is.

Sub B at the far end is push/pulled by the reciprocating air in the hose. Its VC makes AC from the cone motion, from which you could perhaps do more than light an LED... Clean, fully isolated electrical source driven by "sound" pressure waves confined within a pressurized tube.

It would be a fun experiment to find the best frequency, one that both conveys power well and is inaudible. Dual VC sub? +/- isolated voltages for your preamp 😀

In the late 40's, many workers fell ill with reasonably bad symptoms as a result of ultrasonic exposure, it took a while for the medical community to catch up and figure it out.

It appears we may be going through another cycle of that.

Always remember, those who forget history are doomed to repeat it.

D##M, that made me look really really smart, didn't it? Hello...Hello??😀

Sound as a transmission method has two big faults

You have a finite upper limit on SPL as pressure cannot go negative on the bottom of the pressure cycle

The impedance mismatch between any practical transducer and air makes horrible efficiency, even with a horn (which is a matching transformer)
Compression drivers are efficient, but run into the first point
