you did say 100 watt bulb?

Yes 100 Watts.
I thought that was the purpose of a current limiter.....so you can apply power and find a short, without snapping fuses.?

yes, but you have to find the error in the wiring.
It does not carry a label saying "I'm here" !

And 100W is far too big.
Start low 25W, or 40W, to test your transformer wiring.
