Please review this power supply, and let me know if it is OK. It is meant to power 4 gainclones for Bi-amping, and a preamp. The preamp will have filters and regulators on-board, and the gainclones will obviously have their caps on-board.

sURE,
The speaker cabinet idea was much more impressive though 😉 what kind of rendering software did you use?

that is a straight forward circuit....ummm....why are you asking????....if you want to jazz it up I have some suggestions

No, I was just checking to see if I was doing anything stupid. What would jazz it up?
The rendering software is 3ds Max, well actually modeling, and then rendered with Brazil for the GI and etc.

Your provision for a Pilot Light is a good idea. If the pilot is way too fat and heavy your amp will never "fly". 😉
Circlotron/ - takes risk by being stupid with someone that doesn't know him. 🙄

Guess you wanna have a separate enclosure for the PS!?
Isn´t it better then to put some capacitors in the PS already to keep the pure AC from the amps?

haha, good one circlotron. I took the images from some website, and just edited them, that is why it is still there. I should have just taken it off.
joensd - I am not sure, that is sortof why I asked.

It is very nice, but for the power amps, isn't there a big problem with hum, if you connect 1 amp, no problem, but with 2 amp's you create a large ground loop ( becouse you connect the 2 bridges togetter at different places ) , and the more you connenct the bigger it gets.
I could be wrong on this one, but still i think it will be a problem, maybe seperated bridges for every power amp could solve this.

I think if you do it like Paul intended to (so no caps in the PS)It is very nice, but for the power amps, isn't there a big problem with hum, if you connect 1 amp, no problem, but with 2 amp's you create a large ground loop ( becouse you connect the 2 bridges togetter at different places ) , and the more you connenct the bigger it gets.
every amplifier has got it´s own star ground between the caps in its own enclosure.
Actually I have to admit I haven´t got through the hole "This is not just another gainlone"-thread. There might be an answer to this.
Jens
Jens - in need of a flatrate to go through all those long threads😉
