Power supply for simple tube compressor

Considering the merits of *this* compressor, any power supply over $1.99 is a waste.

Based on FR probably? I've seen a sharp cut-off penthode been used like this before but better designs use transformers, what I found anyway.

Over all I've had 1 failure (100W output in a sealed box - torture test, coil failed short) out of like 15 units. It reminds me I must order some more haha.

My limited experience is with external notebook PS. I could manage to heat a Coleman Regulator with one unit but with the next even my CD player went crazy from oscillation. Probably because of the reason you described. I found Rod very cooperative, good guy.
