Hi All,
I am looking for a clean output power supply for my Allo Boss/Raspberry Pi. I have two Meanwell GST18U05-P1J 5V 3A power supplies.
How are these compared to Ifi power 5V power supply? Do Ifi power supply has significance improvement when compared to above mentioned Meanwell power supply?
Also, is it better to provide power to Raspberry Pi and Allo Boss individually?
Please help me out with these queries.
Thanks,
Simar

Best sound can be obtained using TWO separate power supplies, one for the RPi and one for the ALLO BOSS. If the BOSS HAT is reasonably nimble (up to 300mA needed) you may find it's a different case with the RPi depending on:
- the RPi model
- the USB devices you may want to use

AMB is a solid choice, as well as Salas L-adapter ( circuit board and parts kit available from tea bad in group buy). Ian Canada offers some nice power supply options with super cap as an option. I have built 3 different power supplies as well as have a Allo Nirvana and Shanty. It is hard to beat the price performance of the shanty when you figure cost of the case.

Don't under estimate how much power a Rpi needs. I would go with a 3 to 5 amp supply. I used some cheapo ebay LM317 DIY, I got slow, with lots of drop outs and hanging. When I changed supply, things run smoothly.
Its not a constant current draw, but high short burst currents. The above mentioned are all good. Ian Canada Ultra cap, L-adapter & S11 are all DIY I have used. All will do. And yes use 2 supplies.
