Hi, I have my poweramp on the bench for some maintenance and am considering reworking the powersupply. Each channel is based on Slones OptiMos design.
At the moment I have a 50-0-50 500 VA transformer and a single bridge rectifier per channel and 10,000uF per rail. Ideally I would prefer 20,000 per rail and two bridge rectifiers per channel but due to space constraints in my enclosure this is not possible.
However if I remove one of the transformers I could add extra reservoir caps and have a BR for each rail voltage.
If I did this would it be better to power each channel by splitting the rails after 40,000uf reservoirs per rail or should I send the secondaries in two directions to a parallel setup of dual BRs and 20,000 per rail?
So of the three possible configurations I can achieve, including the one I have at the moment, which would be considered better?
