Hello, I made a 12au tube cmoy amp from a kit on ebay. It worked great for a while, but now the power is blinking on intermittently but won't stay on. The led light below the tube flicks on then off for a few seconds, then blinks then off etc. There is a soft popping sound from the headphones when this happens. I checked my solder connections and they seem to be ok. I used another 12v power supply to see if it was that but it wasn't.
Any ideas?
I made two of these, the other one started to sound like I was listening to a faint tin can. I replaced the chip with a burr brown chip and now it works fine. I'm wondering if Key West's famous crappy power system is affecting the amps.

The first problem is a power supply issue, possibly a dry joint - which can be a pig to find 🙂
If you want to send me pic of both sides of the boards I'll see if I can spot the problem - I've looked at a lot of them 🙂
