Hello everyone,
I plan on an amp design that uses potentiometers in the gain path, simular to NP's latest single stage complementary design.
What type is best, single or multi turn? What is closest to an ideal resistor? I see no capacitance or inductance values on spec sheets.
Any recommendations are much appreciated. I need ~200 ohms so I was thinking of paralleling ~300ohm resistor with a 2kohm multi turn pot.
Thanks,
Scott

Never tried multi-turn pot. For standard pots like Alps: the lower ohmic value, the better sonic result.
Use a good quality cermet trimpot, multi turn or not. Multiturn has only a gearbox but the resistor path is equally long (but there are types with longer paths) and good.
Bourns, Spectrol, Beckman etc. many types to choose from.
