Does anyone know of a domestic source for the nuts commonly used on the Alps and Noble potentiometers? I have a fair number of both, sans hardware. These's some sources in Taiwan and Hong Kong, but I don't feel like waiting.
Check out item H on the page, they come in 7,8,9,10mm sizes

Thanks for the link - I'm sure others will benefit, too. I also just found that Parts Express sells a kit with all hardware including nuts plus metal and plastic fender washers for a really nice price. Search for "pot nuts". For those who need to know, the standard Alps and Noble fancy-pants pots use an M8 X 0.75 nut.
Mouser is always convenient -- McMaster is always first choice for mechanicals, however. They have a whole page of M-8 nuts.
There are few rules I believe in and even fewer in audio but I think "Never lose the nuts that come with your pots." is a good one. 🙂
Andrew, the rule only applies if the pots had nuts to begin with... You might say they were pre-lost. Anyway, I just placed an order with Parts Express for their washer kit. At ten sets of nuts with washers for ~$1, it was a deal I couldn't resist.
You know I'd never make it as a comedian, although I could have secured a dollar by betting the joke would be inapplicable in this exact way. 😉
