So my questions are, could the 5Z3 tube short internally, melting the transformer? And where/how can I replace the transformer? I'll have one custom made if need be.
I have seen 6X4 rectifier's glass crack from over current and over heating more than once which was caused intermittent shorted filter capacitors.
I have a great reasonable vendor who can rewind all old transformers. He is in Orono Maine and rewinds all transformers for old ham radio equipment, Hammond organ and Leslie speakers. His work is excellent, work out of his shop is better than what you can buy new.

To clarify, that's not a piano, it's one of the first polyphonic synthesizers built. Much later was the RCA.
