That reminds me of the telephone box of the Dr. Who tv series, but with the wrong coördinates typed in.
I suspect this may have been the one of the first mobile phones.
At the polithecnic of Turin 50 years ago I studied that in order to be introduce a telephonic apparatus must have a " mean time between failures of 30 years.
The cellular makers reduced the time to 3 years otherwise they were not able to sell a cellular every 2 years.
How about we deliberately slow the phone software down after a couple of years?

Ah yes, it was a running gag in the "proper" Dr Who (the ones I saw as a child) that the Tardis was like Dr Who in his second incarnation (Patrick Troughton) and a bit cranky, not always going where commanded. A handy plot device.
In the movie Farmageddon about Shaun the Sheep (which is loaded with references to SF movies) is a great scene where the sheep dressed as robots enter the Farmageddon-land and meets dr Who.
