Gotta give that AI something to do, lest it ends up generating permanently displayed responses from a "real" user handle, like it's already doing in that other forum.

At the time, broadcast video was recorded on 2" tape. (I was going to say 13" spools at 15.625" per second, but 405 line probably wasn't quite as hungry and might not have needed such large spools). I didn't work in VT, so I don't know what that meant in terms of recording time, but I'll bet it wasn't much. And tape was very expensive to buy. It was also expensive to store; a reel of 2" quadruplex tape in its box was surprisingly heavy, so a tape library needed a strong floor. And it was big. Doctor Who was regarded as ephemeral kid's entertainment and commanded a low budget. Nevertheless, I remember hiding behind the sofa when the psychotic pepperpots came on. (Daleks: The greatest of all science fiction nasties.)

This has to be the maddest way of powering a ride. Looks very home made and even has a differential casing - presumably welded solid. I guess it means no high power electric motor and associated controls though

Yeah, I grew up in north central Montana. I recall many farmers there had decades of old machinery and other scrap metal to work with. More than they'd ever need for repairs. Glad to see a good sense of humor mixed in with the creativity.
I didn’t mean to say that the Tesla should be hauling garbage. I meant to say that it should be hauled away AS garbage!
