I'm charmed by the Pea car. And the link answered the subsidiary question of whether it could do >50mph. Never saw the advert.
@Cal Weldon: As to "pair", I believe trews were originally entirely separate tubes used to keep legs warm, so you needed a pair of them, eventually leading to a pair of trousers. We wear knickers in the UK; panties being a foreign invasion that should be discarded. We also have pants (trousers), so I suppose a seriously abbrieviated pair could become briefs or panties, retaining the pair denomination. But the brassiere is a much more modern invention, so presumably it didn't evolve; it just appeared suddenly.

You know a single drive these days could hold enough video for an average human to watch 12 hours a day for their entire adult life with no repeats.this forum must have a server farm as big as a 10,000m² warehouse
I was trying to source '60s episodes of Dr. Who only to find that many were taped over. I understand, of course, but what a shame this wasn't known at the time.

A bad spelling party.
For pointing out the error, the cool kids have voted you off the isle. And sent you back to aisle 14 with all the rest of the geeks.

Mr EC,@Cal Weldon: As to "pair",
I didn't think it required a response, but thank you for your fashion sense.
