I discovered that overheating a resistor permanently changes its value. They all tend to become 110 ohms.

I left one clock set to DS, one to standard; now they're both set the same. My wife isnt changing her clock this "go round". I remember my mommy saying "It's to help the farmers so they can work longer out in the fields". Just one more thing to deal with, for an entire lifetime. Adjust this, then that; then adjust yourself to fit.
Change the clocks on Saturday night, and totally forget about the clock at work on Monday - and wonder why the stuff on the radio is all on a different times than usual.
Or ... just live in one of the few places that does not change? But then try and remember how the change effects scheduled events from elsewhere.
