Cockroach and Eggs. I grew up in South Louisiana where you could not get rid of roaches unless you put a little too much poison around you.
The eggs would be found under furniture and just about every nook and cranny.
Pleased for the low temperatures because I do not need to see those things again.

Schrodinger's mirror: if you put a mirror in a box, wore sound canceling headphones, and dropped the box from such a hight that there would be a 50/50 chance of the mirror breaking and never opened it, would you get 7 years of bad luck, or 3 years, 6 months of bad luck; similarly, if you made a machine to break a mirror in 100 years time, and blasted it off to space so it couldn't be interfered with, would you get 7 years of bad luck?.
If no one observed it being broken, then maybe not. But- how can you put a mirror into space without interfering with the mirror in the first place? I would place Elon Musk in one of his spaceship and ask him the same question.
If a spaceship carrying "musk" et al. to Mars would disappear, how can we be sure it is really gone for good?
