Post a Picture that Makes You Laugh

One of our US congress-women asked whether the Mars Rover couldn't be turned around to take a picture of the astronaut.

One of said congress-woman's "aide-de-camp" questioned the US military if so many Marines on Guam wouldn't run the risk of tipping the island over.
That reminds me of someone who asked if Europe is 7 hours ahead, why don't they warn the US of disasters.
Or someone who asked for a globe of Swindon.

^ In the US, there were a lot of fun variations on that theme. Someone did a funny 'remix' of AOC's interview on Face the Nation, and I think that one started the ball rolling. I'm not sure anyone ever 'reported' that AOC or The Donald said those words, but it sure was fun to watch the memes flow.

Sadly, we did have politician recently state that the moon is a planet. What makes it even more troubling is that she once led the House Science Committee's space subcommittee. We're in a world of hurt over here.

Sorry ... we're supposed to have pictures to make us laugh... so... since it's time for fun facts...

This in turn reminds me of a pun on The Donald who reportedly once has said that »We'll be landing on the sun soon«. On the interviewer's objection of »Isn't it too hot there?« he answered: »Well, we'll be landing by night«.

Best regards!
I find it funny how many false quotes and stories exist in a world where we have instant access to nearly all the information in the world. It is also funny that the same stories are told with different people attributed to them. It is basically filled in with a name that the person telling the story doesn't like.

Honestly, there are enough stupid things said by nearly all politicians that there would seem to be no need to make up new ones. The one that ItsAllInMyHead referenced also said the moon is made up mostly of gasses.

I wonder if more buses should have themed decorations? This is a fine example. Mendeleev, I think.

Instead of dully staring at Mobile 'Phones at Bus stops, the populace could fascinatedly stare at passing buses and engage in animated conversation with fellow travellers. 😀
What type of animated conversation would average people have about the periodic table?

Rep Shelia Jackson Lee, D — "A full moon is that complete, rounded circle which is made up mostly of gases, and that's why the question is why or how could we as humans live on the moon? Are the gases such that we could do that?" Later after people pointed out to her that the moon is a big rock and not made of gas she corrected her statement and said she meant to say the sun. So, she wants to know how we as humans could live on the sun. Anyway, people who are ignorant and stand behind microphones all day are bound to say some stupid things, but this and Rep Johnson’s assertion that Guam will tip over with too many Marines, or Dan Quayle, “not to have a mind is being very wasteful” are some absolute whoppers.
