Being able to turn it off, oh yeah! who'd miss it...
Great expectations....
So I went back and got hammered instead...

Is that Roger Moore?

Every time I see Roger Moore, I remember this guy (Richard Kiel as Jaws):Is that Roger Moore?

There are a lot if things I think of when I see Roger Moore.
I would say The Spy Who Loved Me is pretty much on the top if the list. It was the first Bond movie I saw at the local $1 afternoon matinee as a kid.
But Jaws is not usually the first thing…
although not necessarily in that order

Nice. Don't forget to rotate your speakers every 10,000 miles for a uniform listening experience.
It's not only funny. Instead, take this design as a valuable, simple and clever baffling option for a dipole woofer:
1. Response will correspond to a curve beween b=2a and b=4a in this graph on the linkwitzlab website. Therefore, it will come along with a gain of approx. +10dB ... +16dB for the bass compared to all these certainly sexy looking, but acoustically heavily flawed "naked" sub/bassdriver dipole approaches seen here in this forum.
2. The rubber of the tyre may help to nicely absorb any vibrations of the driver chassis, thus not transmit them to the floor.
Be aware then of the resonance stemming from the open back structures of this setup, you may cross this woofer well below them.
So all in all it's an acoustically rather clever design, after all? You may laugh and make jokes about the WAF in general. Specifically this design might confront yourself with your own acceptance factor instead.

Someone misinterpreted the term "rubber surround".
