Hello all, I am definitely new to the DIY audio and I was hoping to make use of these two Dayton RS100-4 4” drivers that are 4 Ohm with a Dayton AMY mini-8 air tweeter rated at 8 Ohm. I haven’t gotten to the size of the cabinet yet but I was just making sure my components would be compatible together as a center speaker first.
Also if anyone has recommendations for a good 3 way crossover for this set up that would be great. Thank you for any help here.

The crossover connects the different driver circuits in parallel, so they don't interact electrically.

A higher impedance tweeter is a good way to attenuate the tweeter to match the poor sensitivity of the larger drivers. Normally the tweeter is attenuated the 3dB and more to match the larger drivers. If you have a 3 way, then you may want to not cascade the tweeter high-pass with the mid crossover, ie use independent crossover paths. If you want to use a cross-over designed for 4 Ohms, then you need to load it to 4 Ohms, ie add an 8 Ohm resistor, to avoid messing with the response. But you should be designing a custom crossover used with a custom speaker.
This thread reminded me that I have 4 x 4ohm Dayton Classic 6.5" woofers and 2 x DC28 Dayton tweeters that I have to do something with. I was thinking of an MTM config with the woofers wired in series for an 8 ohm system. I remember Curt Campbell had a few designs with slightly smaller woofers, that worked well. Once I get back to my speaker design course, I might be able to do something about it.
I assume you would want a typical horizontal MTM center channel. You would wire the two RS100-4s in series and they would work as an 8 ohm driver. Wired as an MTM you would need a two way crossover.Also if anyone has recommendations for a good 3 way crossover for this set up that would be great.
Ok if I use a two way crossover, I would put the two woofer drivers in series connected to the lower end of the two way crossover and the tweeter to the higher end? Which two way crossover would you recommend for this? Can someone give me a good diagram that would should how the two woofer drivers would connect in the two way along with the tweeter? Why not treat the series pair as if they were one driver, that will adapt them adequately to any situation.
It's not so easy to answer your question as asked. Some would prefer to cut one woofer out early for a number of reasons which takes a special circuit. For now just start with something basic.

So what would be the best option to connect the 2 RS100-4 drivers with the AMY mini-8 tweeter? It feels like I’m getting multiple answers of either a 2 two way crossover or no crossover at all.
