It seems I've committed the cardinal sin of DIY projector building: I broke one of the flat flexible cables on my LCD panel. After lengthing/replacing one cable (successfully), in the process of mounting the panel and controller board in a box for testing, I broke the cable. It's one of the line drivers, providing the horizontal portion of the screen. I have a band running from right to left across the screen, about 20% of the height. I've searched around on here and found that you can possibly lengthen these cables, but I haven't found anything on fixing/replacing them. I don't think I can replace the entire cable, since it attaches directly to the LCD panel, but I'm hoping that maybe I can fix the broken traces, since not all of them on the cable are broken. Does anybody know if this is possible? The rest of the screen works fine, just that one stripe across it.
