Posh caps.

I've used the MIT MultiCap PPMFX (metallized), and find them very nice as well, ticknpop! The PPFXS/RTX were more than I spent on the LQs.

Nothing wrong with a set of WIMA caps! The WIMAs are special in that the metallization layer is independent and separate of another film layer. This means there won't be failures with WIMA parts, even in the F/F products from WIMA. WIMA is used in MANY commercial electronic devices, and is a very trusted manufacturer.

Basically, and in reality, a capacitor is two metallic plates seperated by an insulation layer of whatever.
Also in reality, there are many manufacturers that make such devices that perform their intended purpose just fine.

However, the "boutique" labeling and associated pricing to me is silly, and only lines someone elses pockets at the consumer's expense.

Just like hyped-up names usually do.... "Marantz"..... "McIntosh"....."Mercedes Benz"... whatever fancy-shmancy name that advertizing endorses...

People are "led" to believe.... and they ultimately do.

I'm not saying that there aren't "tier levels" of quality, because up to a point, like anything, you do gain more quality.
But don't fall for "names" as being the end point.

Honda motorcycles are much less prone to need repairs or service than "the highly touted" Harley D's.
