Hi,
I'm new to this site and wanna ask for some advice on building my 5th portable speaker.
I was looking to build a portable speaker in a ammunition box, with a wondom jab3+ and a 4s2p battery and a inlay of wood (for stability). I was wondering what drivers to use in it 4,5l internal volume without the drivers. For playing inside aswell as outside.
I was thinking about 3 options:
1:A dual tcp115 vented design with dual tweeters(any sugestions?).
2:A dual tcp115 sealed design with dual tweeters(any sugestions?).
3:A single tcp115 vented design and a sealed 3 inch full range driver.
Let me know what u think!
Thanks in advance,
Martijn

That thick and it dents?
Yes, lining with wood is a good idea.
I’m a big fan of FR, pick the right one and a tweeter is totally superfluous, The ones i use would like 2.5 litres each. Once lined your box is going to be about 2 litres (check my math?).

I have just recieved the ammunition box. The inside measurements are as follow: 14,5 cm x 28,5 cm x 18 cm. 0,3 cm thick. With a inlay of wood, battery and amplifier im looking at 4,5 liters of free air. I was thinking on going 2 x dayton audio tcp115-8 no dividing of the inner free space (mono). First i wil try sealed and when i'm not satisfied with the sound i can always make a tube in the side. That thick and it dents?

Bison polymax i think, or do u have any suggestions? The adhesive you use will play an important role. I'd consider a soft polyurethane.
That might be OK but I'm not familiar with it. You want something that's elastic but resistant. IE Liquid Nails for floors is another, but silicone is not because it's springy, not resistant.
Never worked with a PR, any tips ar welcome!
Yeah polymax as stated on their website, is made out of polymeres, resistant and elastic. So it should be fine thanks for the tip👍That might be OK but I'm not familiar with it. The config as followed: dual tcp115-8 in one enclosure with 4l of free air wil get me a -3db at 60hz -8db at 50hz. I can also use some algorithms in sigmastudio since im using a dsp to enhance bass.Never worked with a PR, any tips ar welcome!
A PR is a substitute for a vent. Your small box would require a vent larger than the inside of the box so one has to sub a PR.
F3 is meaninless to humans (ref Toole). Much better to consider F6/F10

not 5mm walls for certain, it would be incredibly heavy.Around 0.5 cm thick, it dents easy. Thats why i wanna do the inside with 0.9cm wood.
Expect around 0.9 to 1 mm or so.
Absolute tops 1.2mm but I´d be surprised.
