Acoustic Length

I use the term to denote the port length that you would enter into your design software. It factors in the effect of flares (add half the flare size for each flare).

From what I see in the preceeding comments, "Acoustic length" seems to mean something different. 😱

Would I be better to use the term "effective length" instead?

ps I've been away for a week so please excuse this resurrection of a dying thread....

Yes, because the only relevance of the length to operation is the effect it has on trhe mass of air in the port.
