The sale ended the morning after I placed the order for one ZXI12.4D and the 2/8 DSP. Saved AUD $73 in total and $45 just on the driver., So wish that I could have ordered all 4 drivers then. Will wait for the next sale, armed and dangerous 🙂
The items arrived a couple of days ago. The ZX12.4D is breathtaking! I took it out of the box and put it back in. It's scary 😀
Tidying up my lil work area in the new grown-ups room we started on during renovations. Too old and worn for pics. This is also my chill/PC area. This area will evolve with the project too
Keeping all project bits and pieces in storage under the heaving bed opens up a bit of room. The sound system will have two digital and one analog console as well as FL Studio control surface and a synth keyboard. Will be making new travel cases for these as well as new wall mounts for those cases in this area, for use at home. A screen and PC will be added too to the setup. This PC will also be used for measurements. Screen and computer will be part of the mobile rig. I prefer working on larger screens than laptops
I'll do a BR, TL, TH and something scoopish test boxes out of MDF. These will be used to audition and measure the performance of the ZXI12.4D, ZR12.4D and the GEN-X10.4D and also acquire and test the GEN-X12.4D. These other drivers are, so I may find the best fit for the smaller floor monitor speaker
Very intrigued by the TL and TH. Will be a first for me. Weirdly, the difference between that TL and TH is just a pair of side panels. The driver has a very low Vas so I thought that if it needs a small BR box than how would it go in a reduced Sd TL? Sims very nicely and may be a keeper

The TH version of the TL seems to have the best wide response from Fb 33Hz to over 200hz and pretty flat
Response with system filters on and no Eq. First segment is 60% polyfill. I can't figure out how to see max power response and have the filters on. It seems like that the filters effect disappears on leaving the filters wizard and won't recall even if saved. Unable to see peak response with filters in pace, but I think would be about 120dB flat. Trying to find the HR feature for showing the response for multiple speakers
Back to the TH. Taking the side panels away from H4 turns the box into a TL with similar low end, but above 100hz is ugly. Those side panels really clean up the bass between 100 and 250Hz
