Full pentode mode "finals" require loop NFB of some kind, in order to realize an adequate damping factor. Also, open loop distortion performance of true 3 grid pentodes and beam power tetrodes is maximized by regulating g2 B+ at a fraction of anode B+.
I strongly suggest that "Baby Huey", with its short loop NFB configuration be studied. The O/P transformers in place could easily lack the magnetic headroom necessary to try a global NFB loop.
