EDC.
I have one of these also a beauty, it opens like it had a spring assist but it is mechanical only. I have a number of Ruike knives exceptional build quality and extreme value. This knife has a special safety lock so it cannot close on you by accident, very nice feature great Swedish steel.
🙂 that is all it is about I believe in the thread...these things are reminder. Most of the time we don t need it as a tool or to defend ourselves ... But they carry the beauty of a tool that someone needed it, be it from family or not and all the care that was involved in it when made by someone...
(slight edit only for brevity) - I completely agree with you!
Today's pic. Not a pocket knife but can be worn on your belt. You would be arrested in Australia if you did though!
Was given to me when I was a kid by my uncle who served in Vietnam. Not sure what age, maybe 10....

That Marlin spike is very handy for making holes in "Jelly" or "Plastique" to take the detonator and they were used to take stones from horse hooves according to my instructors way back when, but also excellent for getting mud out of the soles of your boots.
I have no idea where mine went but at one time I had two of them, also my two German army "Swiss Army" knives have vanished, all I have left is a 3-blade "Stockman" branded Kershaw but made by Kai in Japan.
