I am interested to know what everyone here thinks of sub enclosures made out of plexiglass. I had never seen one before I ran across this particular seller on eBay. My guess would be the plexi has WAY too much flex to make a decent enclosure, especially without a whole lot of bracing. For what it costs to buy plexi though, these boxes are going pretty cheap though... IMO.

I've never built anything out of plexiglass - is it like 'perspex' in the UK?
If so I'd say that 9mm is way to thin - I'd be looking at 18 - 25mm in thickness.
That's got me thinking
Cheers

Most boxes made of plexi are for car audio use. They look really great if you use cool looking speakers and light them up with neon. If you want to build a serious box out of plexi, you would have to make the walls pretty thick to get enough stiffness.
