ohp and bulbs

OHP Dukane 4003 (= Infocus 410)

4300 Lumens

FXL bulb between $12 and $20 depending on the place you shop.

Live expectancy 50 hours, My first bulb died after about 110 hours.

pro: compact when not in use, very portable, solid structure

contra: noisy fan, leaks lots of light, 4300 lumes may be the minimum you need for a panel!

Portable No Good

Portable OHP are generally no good. You need a transmissive OHP (light comes from the bottom) not a reflective (light comes from the top as in your picture). 4000 Lumens is about the minimum required and you need a stage big enough for the lcd panel. The best way to find out inormation is to "search" for it. Either on the internet or this site. It has been said before but I will say it again. Most people will ignore you on this site until you have read a great deal of it and start asking more in depth questions. It took me a few days to read through the majority of DIY Projector (part 1 & 2) and I still haven't read it all. It did allow me to ask more pointed questions though. Also, the wiki (perminent thread) has several links which can provide valuable information.
