Hi, I am not sure if this is the right place to be talking about this, but I am having trouble getting my Sharp qa-1650 panel to work correctly (it seems to work when there's a solid color, like on my dvd welcome screen, but anything else it's screwed up). I've got the rca input plugged into a dvd player, and the panel works, it's just...."jittery" (see pictures) -- anyone have any suggestions?

thanks for any help!!! (I have tried all the different settings: phase, h/v post, etc) -- I cannot try the pc input b/c i don't have one of those connectors from my computer and i don't have an s-video cable (would it be possible the s-video would work fine?)
Also, the welcome screen works perfectly....

Hiya m8, I have a QA 1650 also and I am having probs as well, s video works for ntsc signal so you are good to go there, not so good for me because i'm from Ireland.
When I connect my dvd player to the panel using the rca composite cable the panel goes in and out of colour and for the most part its black and white - I don't know why this is and would like help also.
Finally when I connect the panel to a pc the colour is fine, so I am totally baffled, sorry I wasn't much help to you but maybe we may get some answers relevant to both of us.

I have heard, dont quote me on this, that b/w video from S-video is sometimes because of poor s-video cable.
I wonder is that that the same with the Rca cable, I have seen that a lot of people get mixed results using it and connecting to a dvd player, If I could fix that prob I would be sorted, it works like a dream on my pc.
That sounds like Macrovision copy protection
If you are able to view your PC but not your DVD player than it must be the copy protection on your DVD disk that causes the colors to go all screwy.
I have an Apex DVD player that I flashed to disable macrovision, this allows me to output the DVD player to a VCR.
There are many DVD players without macrovision, and many hacks available, do some google searching for hacks for your player.
Dig it?

has anyone figured this out yet? i'm using s- video and my projector is just hours away from completion. i accidentally put the panel in right side up so the image is upside down. once i fix this everything is good to go except the image is black and white. when i hit menu the menu panel is in color but not the dvd image. i did hack up the s video cord to make it shorter. it was 6 feeet. i needed six inches.. i'll buy a new one and try it out, but in the meantime, if anyone has suggestions, it would be greatly appreciated.
